Charan Seva for Warkaris during the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage at Pandharpur
10 July 2026: Smt. Subhadra K. Jindal College of Nursing, Deccan Education Society (DES), Pune, organized a "Charan Seva" initiative during the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage at Pandharpur in collaboration with the Chief Minister's Relief Fund Cell and the Public Health Department, Pune.
Final Year B.Sc. Nursing (Semester VIII) students provided Charan Seva to 300+ Warkaris (pilgrims) by washing their hands and feet, offering comfort after their long journey. The initiative promoted compassion, selfless service, and social responsibility, reflecting the message, "Service to Humanity is Service to God.
International Yoga Day
21 June 2026 : International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across all D.E.S. schools. Students actively participated in various yoga practices, performing different asanas and breathing exercises with dedication and discipline. The celebration highlighted the importance of maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle through the practice of yoga. The event inspired students to incorporate yoga into their daily lives.
Interactive Session on Security Mechanism
Interactive Session on "International Law & Collaborative Security Mechanism" Held at D.E.S.'s Shri Navalmal Firodia Law College, Pune. In that session Mr. Chafekar, Additional Director General (Retd), Indian Coast Guard highlighted that international law governs relations between states, international organizations, and individuals through treaties, customary practices, and legal principles enforced by institutions like the UN, ICJ, and ICC.
It covers trade, human rights, environmental protection, and conflict resolution, with cooperation fostered through treaties, arbitration, and regional organizations like the EU and ASEAN. Despite structured mechanisms through bodies like the WTO and IMO, enforcement gaps remain due to geopolitical tensions and sovereignty concerns.The session underscored the crucial role of international law in maintaining global order and fostering peaceful co existence among nations.
Tree Plantation at DES
On July 11, 2024, the Deccan Education Society (DES) reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by organizing a successful coconut tree plantation drive. This significant event was graced by the presence of our esteemed leadership team, including Shri. Pramod Rawat Chairman, Council & Governing Body DES, Shri. Dhananjay Kulkarni Secretary, DES, CA Vivek Mathkari Governing Body Member, DES, Shri. Khemraj Ranpise Council Member, DES, and Shri. Milind Kamble Council Member, DES.Together with our dedicated DES staff, we planted new life and took a significant step towards a greener future.
